[Women's Basketball] Three Falcons Grab All-KCAC Honors
WICHITA, Kan. — Freshman forward Taylor Jackson, junior guard Carrie Lacy, and Senior Alexa Chairs each earned All-KCAC honors following the Friends University women's basketball program's best season since the 2017-18 season, the league announced Tuesday (Feb. 22). Following an outstanding freshman season, Jackson was named KCAC Freshman of the Year, as well as a third-team All-KCAC performer. She leads the Falcons with 12.3 ppg and 11.1 rpg and is second in the KCAC in blocks with 3.2 per contest. Jackson was also named to the KCAC All-Defensive team. In her first season, Jackson's year was highlighted by a pair of modern-statistical era single-season school records in blocks and rebounds, as well as tying the single-game school record in both blocks (9) and offensive rebounds (11). A native of Victoria, Texas, Lacy grabbed third-team All-KCAC selection in her first season with the program. She is second for the Falcons in scoring (12.2 ppg) and leads the team with 1.8 steals per contest. Lacy made an impact for the Falcons from game one, scoring in double figures in 15 games, including a takeover performance in an overtime victory over Avila in Kansas City, Mo. She finished with 30 points, including an old-fashioned three-point play to send the game into overtime. A graduate transfer from St. Charles, Mo., Chairs picks up All-KCAC Honorable Mention honors in her only season with the Falcons. She is the only Falcon to start in every game this season and is third on the team with 11.1 ppg. The Falcons advanced to the quarterfinal round of the KCAC Tournament following an 80-55 rout of the Southwestern College Lady Moundbuilders on Monday (Feb. 21). Friends will play host to the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes Wednesday night (Feb. 23) for the second time in less than a week for a chance to move on to the KCAC Semifinals for the first time since 2018.
