Captains Shut Out Meredith Twice on Senior Day…Jamie Martin Throws Five-Inning Perfect Game in Opener

Christopher Newport University had another dominant day on the softball field Sunday, as the eighth-ranked Captains swept a doubleheader over Meredith College. CNU upped its current winning streak to 11 games with a 13-0 win in the opener in five innings, and then posted an 8-0 victory in six innings in the nightcap. Junior pitcher Jamie Martin faced the minimum of 15 batters in the opener, striking out 13, and threw a five-inning perfect game.
