Jacks Drop Tight Battle to First Place Cougars

ARCATA, Calif. — Cal Poly Humboldt aimed to remain undefeated on their home floor this season after hosting Cal State San Marcos Saturday night in Lumberjack Arena. The first place Cougars came in as the only team in the CCAA with double digits in the win column for conference play. With a tough task at hand, Humboldt controlled San Marcos for most of the game but fell in the final few minutes to the Cougars with a final score of 62-56. Emilia Long scored a season-high 23 points on 50 percent shooting, had eight rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block.
