Lady Flames Battle Back but Fall to Sharks in South Region

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Nova Southeastern University outscored the Lee University women's basketball team 21-5 in the second quarter and built a 35-21 halftime advantage. The Lady Flames were down but not out in the opening round of the NCAA DII South Regional hosted by Valdosta State at The Complex on Friday evening. Coach Marty Rowe regrouped his troop at the break and they came fighting back, outscoring the Sharks 18-9 by the end of the third period. The Florida club made a steady march to the free-throw line in the final 10 minutes to post a 71-61 victory and advanced to the second round and will face host Valdosta State on Saturday.
