Sixth-Seeded Georgetown Upsets Third-Seeded St. John’s in BIG EAST Quarterfinal

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – The Georgetown University women's basketball team used a big first quarter and held on to defeat the St. John's University Red Storm 53-44 on Saturday evening in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament presented by JEEP at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The sixth-seeded Hoyas now advance to the semifinals where they will face second-seeded Creighton on Sunday at 5 p.m. With the win, the Hoyas improve to 21-10 on the year, while the Red Storm drops to 17-14 for the season.
