[Women's Basketball] Saints Cruise Past Wolves at Home

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today, when they played host to the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves. The Saints offense was efficient from deep in the first quarter, shooting 50% from three-point range. Jordyn Smith led the Saints with 7 points in the quarter and the Saints would take a 20-11 lead going into the second quarter. In the second quarter, Lauren Morris stepped up off the bench and scored 8 points in the quarter and provided the Saints with the spark they needed. The Saints would take a 40-22 lead going into halftime. Coming out of halftime, the Saints were slow on offense and only managed 11 points in the quarter. Despite the lack of offense, the Saints would still lead 51-41 going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, Jayda Miller led the way with 7 points. The Saints ability to force turnovers and have constant pressure on defense would lead to a 70-55 victory over the Wolves. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 11-9 overall and 6-6 in conference play, while the Wolves drop to 4-14 and 4-8.
