[Women's Basketball] Saints Dominate Wave on Road

Whiting, INnd The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today, when they traveled to Calumet College of St. Joseph to take on the Crimson Wave. The Saints defense applied pressure on the Crimson Wave all game. In the first, it was the Saints ability to control the glass that would give them the edge, the Saints won the rebound battle 67-22 in today's game. The Saints would lead 24-15 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, both teams were held in check with their abilities to succeed on defense. This would lead to a low scoring quarter and a 38-25 Saints lead going into halftime. Coming out of halftime, the Saints found themselves on offense and shot 65% from the field and 50% from three-point range. This offensive effort from the Saints would extend the lead and give them a 64-32 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Saints outscored the Crimson Wave 22-7. The Saints' ability to cause havoc on defense and force 30 turnovers would be crucial in today's success. The Saints would go on and win 86-39. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 12-9 overall and 7-6 in conference play, while the Crimson Wave drops to 0-12 and 0-11.
