[Women's Basketball] Saints Fall to Cougars on the Road

Chicago, Ill. The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today, when they traveled to take on the Saint Xavier University Cougars. The Saints offense started off slow in today's game, but Lauren Morris was able to find her shot early. Morris scored 8 points in the first quarter. Despite the effort from Morris the Saints would trail 17-11 going into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Saints offense continued to struggle while the Cougars were very efficient in the quarter. The Saints would trail 43-26 going into halftime. In the third quarter, the Saints offense heated up shooting 42% from the field and 50% from three-point range. The Saints were led by Grace Adams and her ability to score 9 points in the quarter. The Saints would still trail 64-48 going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Saints offense continued their good shooting and shot 47% from the field and 50% from three-point range. Jordyn Smith led the way with 14 points in the quarter and Grace Adams had 7 points of her own. Despite the Saints' ability to outscore the Cougars in the last two quarters they would fall short and lose 84-72. With the loss, Holy Cross dropped to 9-9 overall and 4-6 in conference play, while the Cougars improved to 13-4 and 9-1.
