[Women's Basketball] Saints Take Down Jaguars on the Road

University Park, Ill. The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today, when they traveled to Governors State University to take on the Jaguars. The Saints' presence on defense was eminent in today's game. The Saints went down by 4 early in the game and responded with a 10-0 run to give them the lead. The Saints would lead 12-8 going into the second quarter. The Saints ability to force turnovers was seen in today's game, forcing 28 Jaguar turnovers. Behind the Saints defense they would take a 20-18 lead going into halftime. The Saints were trailing late in the third and Jordyn Smith stepped up and hit a three-pointer to shorten the deficit for the Saints. The Saints would take the lead and go into the fourth up 33-32. The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle between the Saints and the Jaguars. The Saints were able to get to the free-throw line late in the game and knock them down to extend their lead. The Saints would close it out and win 48-42. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 14-11 overall and 9-8 in conference play, while the Jaguars drop to 6-18 and 4-12.
