[Women's Basketball] Saints Win Big at Home

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today, when they played host to the Trinity Christian College Trolls. The Saint's defense was a problem for the Trolls early and often in today's game. The Saints held the Trolls to eight points in the first quarter and would take a 16-8 lead going into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Saints kept their pressure on defensively, but also started to knock down shots on offense as well. The Saints shot 47% from the field and 50% from the three-point line in the quarter. Grace Adams led the Saints in scoring with 7 in the quarter. The Saints would take 36-21 lead going into halftime. Coming out of the half, the Saints erupted on offense with 25 points in the quarter. The Saints were extremely efficient shooting 56% from the field and 75% from three-point range in the quarter. Jayda Miller hit 2 threes in the quarter and led the Saints with 10 points. The Saints would lead 61-34 going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, the Saints defense stepped up again and forced 6 turnovers and held the Trolls to 10 points. The Saints ability to apply pressure on defense and hit shots on offense would lead to a 72-44 Saints victory. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 10-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play, while the Trolls drop to 6-11 and 3-7.
