[Women's Basketball] Saints Win Big Behind Balanced Scoring

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today, when they played host to the Roosevelt University Lakers. The Saints were ready to play in today's game, coming out of the gate with a 11-0 run to start. The Saints were able to apply pressure on defense and continue to knock down their shots early in the game. The Saints would take a 22-8 lead going into the second quarter. The Saints started to knock down their perimeter shots with Lauren Morris leading the way with 3 three-pointers in today's game. The Saints would take a 45-28 lead heading into halftime. The Saints offense did not slow down coming out of the half, they shot 44% from the field and 40% from three-point range. The Saints were able to dominate the paint against the Lakers, the Saints outrebounded them 54-38 in today's game. The Saints would take a 71-47 going into the fourth quarter. The Saints continued their dominance in the paint, they scored 56 points in the paint in today's game. Carly Spradling led the Saints in scoring with 19 points in today's game and was a presence in the paint. The Saints' ability to apply pressure on defense and control the glass would lead to a 93-58 win over the Lakers. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 13-10 overall and 8-7 in conference play, while the Lakers drop to 7-12 and 5-9.
