Griffins Say Goodbye To 2023-24 Regular Season With Trip To The Sea Gulls

Salisbury, Pa. – (2/16/2024) – Before saying farewell to the 2023-24 regular season, Gwynedd Mercy University (9-16, 2-8) traveled to Salisbury University (7-16, 0-0) where both teams played their final regular season game before moving to their respective playoff tournament. The Griffins came out to a slow start as the Sea Gulls went on a 9-5 run to open the contest and would take an 18-6 advantage in the first quarter. The next two quarters were more favorable to Gwynedd Mercy as they won the second quarter 15-13 and the third quarter 13-8. With ten minutes left in the season finale, the Griffins only trailed Salisbury 39-34, but a strong finish from the Sea Gulls would allow them to defend home court with a 62-44 victory. Senior Guard Lynzie Eggers (Washington Township, N.J.) finished with a career-high in points in a single season with 470 points, including a game-high 25 points tonight on 6-of-22 (27%) shooting. Eggers also went to the charity stripe a game-high 16 times knocking down 12 free throw attempts. She also tied a career-high in steals with six and finished with six rebounds and an assist.
