[Women's Basketball] Women's Basketball Out-Shot at Hastings

Doane Women's Basketball was unable to overcome a hot-shooting Hastings squad as they fell, 88-54, on the road. The loss dropped the Tigers to 4-13 on the season while Hastings moved to 5-10.Turnovers benefited the Broncos, as they outscored the Tigers 24-4 in points off turnovers in the opening half, and 39-15 for the game. Doane was forced into 28 turnovers while Hastings ended the game with 18. The Broncos also shot 46-percent from the floor, hitting 11-of-35 behind the arc, while Doane shot 34-percent and went 3-of-18 from 3-point range.Haylee Heits (SR/Rulo, Neb.) led the Tigers with 13 points and Sydney Roth (SO/Deshler, Neb.) finished with 11 points. Azallee Johnson (JR/Tacoma, Wash.) collected a team-high five rebounds and four steals while Roth dished out a team-best three assists.Hastings received 20 points from Kaitlyn Schmit with Karli Hale posting 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Broncos finished with a 43-30 rebound advantage in the game.Doane will return home on Saturday, January 16, as they take on Northwestern at 2 PM in Crete.
